    The programme is offered over a duration of 12 Months (one Year), The classes are offered during the week on full time/ online and part time basis on Saturday. You will be placed within our partner organisations for your practical training and work integrated learning, or you can choose an accredited facility of your own, the College has the right to approve such facility at its own discretion.

  • Description

    The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as a Community Development Worker. A Community Development Worker collects and provides relevant information from and to communities and builds social cohesion within the community, in order to support the development and implementation of community development initiatives and processes.

    Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

    - Collect relevant community information and provide communities with accurate information relevant to their community development initiatives.
    - Operate effectively in groups, teams and forums and act ethically and professionally in data collection and the coordination of forums and meetings.
    - Communicate the fears, concerns, and needs of the community effectively to the relevant institutions, structures, and forums.
    - Compile integrated community and household profiles.

  • Admission requirements

    The minimum requirement for entry into this qualification is: NQF Level 2 with communication.

  • Textbooks and Log- Books

    Prescribed textbooks and logbooks are provided by the college. Students will receive printed versions of the study guides for this programmes. All prescribed books and log-books fees are included in tuition fee.

  • Assessments and Certification

    Internal assessment for Knowledge modules will be ongoing, including practical and work integrated learning experience. External Assessment: Student will write a compulsory external examination at the end of the course. On successful completion of the programme, the student will receive an Occupational Certificate in Community Development Worker, Level 4, from Quality Council For Trades & Occupations (QCTO).

    b) 1x Certified ID Copy of Parent/Guardian/sponsor
    c) Latest School Results e.g. Matric Certificate, Statement of results etc.
    d) Proof of residence
    e) 2x reams copy paper (500 sheets each)
